William was born in Belgium and moved to BC over 30 years ago. He has spent over 20 years in the security industry, most recently working at the US Consulate General in Vancouver before moving to UBC’s Campus Security team. Outside of his love of martial arts, William is an avid traveler with Germany and Japan among his top destinations and Australia still on the “to-do” list. He loves dogs, particularly German Shepherds, and also enjoys reading historical non-fiction literature.
Ali was born in Iran and moved to Canada after finishing his school and completing his military service in the Iranian Police Services. On his arrival in Canada Ali found an interest in the security field and worked in the public sector as a Security Manager, Investigator and Security advisor for a number of high profile organizations.
Sammy, originally from Hong Kong, moved to Canada at the age of seven, and has spent most of his life in Vancouver. In 2009, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UBC. Joining the department in September 2015, Sammy is the newest addition to the management team.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Nick spent a few years in Southern California where he went to high school. In 2001 he returned to BC to attend University of Fraser Valley and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Nick spent fifteen years at UBC actively working on community engagement and crime prevention initiatives.
Born in Singapore, Man moved to Canada at the age of thirteen and has spent most of his life in Vancouver. Having graduated high school in East Vancouver he then attended Langara College for his post-secondary education. Man brings with him thirty three years of experience in Law Enforcement, Security and Crime Prevention.
Glen was born and raised in Vancouver, attended high school at Vancouver College, and after graduation did his post-secondary at Langara College. After finding work in the security industry, Glen joined Campus Security in 1988, where he honed his leadership and coaching skills in supervisory roles and gained his experience in risk and threat assessment.
