On June 4, professionals from across the security and public safety sectors came together for a day of learning and networking at the 2025 UBC Security Forum. During the morning, the sessions emphasized the importance of mental health and resilience in demanding careers, encouraging attendees to prioritize well-being both on and off the job.
The afternoon sessions shifted to broader operational topics, exploring how security professionals can better identify and respond to threats, support investigations, understand 911 and non-emergency phone operations, and adapt to new challenges. With discussions ranging from workplace safety to large-scale event planning for FIFA 2026, the forum highlighted the growing responsibilities of frontline personnel and the need for stronger collaboration across all areas of security.
A big thank you to all the speakers and the UBC Safety & Risk Services team members involved in bringing the inaugural UBC Security Forum together!
