This morning, protesters disrupted traffic at the intersection of University Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall, interrupting a main public transportation route onto campus. Unfortunately, this created difficulties and traffic delays for individuals needing to access campus venues.
RCMP was in attendance and made one arrest. As this is an active police matter, we do not have any further information relating to the arrest.
The safety and security of our community members and visitors remains our foremost priority. Any protest actions must be conducted with respect for others and within the boundaries of UBC policy and the law.
Classes, events, conferences and graduation ceremonies are proceeding as scheduled unless stated otherwise by the organizers.
