Campus Security is aware of two incidents in recent days where members of the UBC community have been scammed by a “fake taxi”. If you are approached and asked to pay a fare for a taxi ride, please leave the area and call 9-1-1, then notify Campus Security at 604-822-2222.

Save lives with an AED
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is an easy-to-use, portable device that can restart a person’s heart. Anyone can use an AED. The device will only administer an electrical shock if the heart needs it. Learn where AEDs are located on campus.
Incident at AMS Nest
RCMP have confirmed the item seen was a water gun, the building is safe and all normal operations have resumed with no threat to the university.

Update on Rose Garden Parkade incident
University RCMP are seeking witnesses following an attempted robbery on the University of British Columbia Campus on Wednesday afternoon. On June 12, at 1:34 pm, University RCMP responded to the report of an assault with weapon near the Rose Garden parkade located in the 6200-block of NW Marine Drive.

A police incident has occurred around 2:00 pm in the Rose Garden Parkade. Early indications suggest this was an attempted robbery. RCMP is investigating. Police are controlling access to the parkade, and vehicles are being allowed out. We will share more information as it becomes available.
Protesters disrupt traffic on the Vancouver campus
This morning, protesters disrupted traffic at the intersection of University Boulevard and Wesbrook Mall, interrupting a main public transportation route onto campus. Unfortunately, this created difficulties and traffic delays for individuals needing to access campus venues.
